End of Semester
Now that you have [almost] completed the course, please answer each survey question once more in a few thoughtful sentences.
1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
I feel that there are a lot of ways I can integrate Art into my classroom. Whether it be small or large projects, it is important to let kids experience different types of arts and use their creativity to learn. I think it is important for the students to learn background on the artists as well to see how inspiration, dedication, and creativity formed their pieces.
2. What do you know about integrated learning / integration?
Integrated learning can be imperative when teaching, especially because children are not getting exposure to all subjects every day. If the kids are only in an Art classroom for one or two days a week, it is important to be able to help teach and explore art in the main classroom through integration.
3. Rate your comfort level in making art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I've realized, throughout the course of this class, that I am actually much more comfortable with making art than I originally thought. I like that I can make what I want, and if it is not exactly how I planned for it to be, that's okay. I enjoy getting to be creative.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
I still feel a little uneasy about analyzing and talking about art, but I do feel a lot more comfortable than where I was at the beginning of the semester. I think VTS has helped a lot with this and also realizing that art can be portrayed in many more ways than one.
